Position Title: School Nurse Substitute

Job ID#: 1961

Assignment: CPS School Buildings

Reports to: Head Nurse

Hourly Rate: $37.49

 

Crete Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for Substitute PRN positions.

 

The role of a Substitute PRN Nurse is to ensure that students receive quality care in the absence of the regular school nurse.

 

  

Essential Requirements:

  1. Completion of Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse course of study
  2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  3. Eighteen years of age or older
  4. Satisfactory completion of criminal background check

 

Job Tasks:

  1. Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of school children.
  2. Counsels students in good health habits.
  3. Assists for care of disabled children.
  4. Provide first aid and triage when accidents or illness happen at school. Refer to the appropriate health professionals if needed.
  5. Dispense medications according to the student’s prescription.  Store medications safely and securely.
  6. Monitor health and safety of students and staff.

 

Other Responsibilities:

 

Perform the work as required for the position's job tasks in the absence of the staff member.

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.

 

 

Continuous Employment:

Reasonable Assurance for Next School Year: 

 

Employees are provided reasonable assurance of continuous employment for the upcoming school year until the position is terminated either by the employee or CPS.
