What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Dispatcher position at Crete Carrier Corporation?
POSITION SUMMARY
Communicates with all necessary parties to resolve breakdown issues, while ensuring drivers' safety.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assists drivers over the phone and via other communication devices with technical questions pertaining to the breakdown or
damage of equipment. Properly triage to avoid costly and unnecessary repairs and downtime.
* Investigate historical repair records to identify trends
* Determines the appropriate steps to ensure both the driver and equipment are safely removed from the road, if necessary.
* Examines locations of maintenance facilities to determine the best solution for a breakdown event.
* Communicates necessary break-down information with other departments to ensure on-time delivery.
* Obtains estimates, provides appropriate repair approvals and updates repair statuses.
* Issues repair authorizations to vendors as needed.
* Coordinate lodging reservations
* Receives and carries out instructions.
* Manages regular and predictable attendance.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in complex, unstructured situations requiring independent judgment
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
* Use of multiple computer systems and screens
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
