Creswell School District seeks a creative, organized, and knowledgeable Director of Student Services for the 2026-27 school year.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Student Services provides leadership, coordination, improvement and oversight of federal programs, early learning programs, special education programs and related services for students with disabilities. The Director of Student Services also supports school administrators, school counselors, school psychologists, behavior specialists and nurses.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES
- Ensures that federal and special education programs and services operate within district and state goals and within state and federal guidelines.
- Provides instructional leadership, intervention strategies, and curricula recommendations to ensure the achievement of high standards and accountability in the implementation of district goals and programs.
- Engages with the District Administrative Team to guide implementation of an aligned K-12 system – supporting student learning and professional development with administrators, teachers, and support staff.
- Serves as advisor to building administrators and staff regarding special education processes and/or procedural questions.
- Provides leadership and support in the recruitment, screening, hiring and evaluation of special education personnel and nursing staff in collaboration with building principals and staff.
- Develops, directs, and coordinates a program of professional development activities for personnel.
- Maintains effective, positive communication with parents, guardians, patrons, students and staff.
- Ensures effective evaluation and systemic review of instructional and operational programs by overseeing the assessment of student growth and progress on IEPs.
- Develops, manages and monitors special services budgets, contracts, and staffing for all special services programs.
- Responds to questions or concerns from parents, guardians, and students in a sensitive and timely manner.
- Updates policies and procedures on file with the Oregon Department of Education; updates district procedural manuals. Keeps records, reports, and ledgers to comply with assurances and audit requirements.
- Coordinates activities related to periodic Oregon Department of Education monitoring of special education and federal programs and services.
- Attends school, community, and district meetings, events, and activities.

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years of experience in public education, including teaching or supervision in special education or related service fields.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- Master’s degree with specialization in special education or related services
- Valid license in school administration

SALARY AND BENEFITS
- 2026-27 Salary range $113,978-$125,811 (220 day contract)
- District paid PERS
- Other Benefits per Administrative Agreement
