Crestwood Day Camp & School, a private summer day camp is now hiring swim instructors and lifeguards for our summer program.
Dates & Hours:
Monday, June 30, 2025 thru Friday, August 22, 2025. Closed Friday, July 4, 2025 and weekends. Additional Staff Orientation and Trainings in June. Full Time Hours: 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM. Morning periods are for swim instruction; afternoon periods are for lifeguarding. Additional hours and compensation available for private lessons beginning daily at 8 AM and private parties on weekends. Lunch is included.
Part Time WSI position - 9 AM to 12:30 PM - work at camp during our instruction swim periods. Private lessons available for WSI instructors from 8 AM to 9 AM daily.
Swim Instructor Job Summary: Instruct participants in proper methods and techniques of swimming including stroke development, breathing rhythms, endurance and speed. Teach all age of children including first time swimmers. Lifeguard pools and keep children and staff safe and having fun.
Duties:
- Provide safety precaution information to participants
- Rescue endangered swimmers using authorized techniques and equipment
- Administer life-saving procedures if necessary
- Record and submit all private lesson information on a weekly basis
All applicants must:
- Current valid WSI Certification
- For Full Day position must possess current Red Cross lifeguard training certification or equivalent
- Have ability to apply learned skills to actual situations
- Have the ability to follow directions and interact well with staff and campers.
How you'll spend your work day
· Laughing, playing, and even singing in the water with our swimmers
· Following our swim curriculum to develop a student's love of swimming
· Instructing students through daily small group lessons
· Lifeguarding select periods of the day making swim time at camp the safest and most fun part of the day.
