Catering Manager
Location: Hilton Head Island, SC, 29928
Our beautiful 513 room beachfront resort is looking for a dynamic Catering Sales Manager to join our team at the Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa. We have over 46,000 square feet of total event space.
Purpose
Solicit, book, plan and coordinate local catering/wedding market while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed sales goals as well as detail corporate meetings/functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years hotel sales/catering experience
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed
- Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others
- Strong customer service, communication, presentation, and selling/closing skills
- Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (Delphi skills are a plus)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Responsible for booking assigned markets with the emphasis on catering business
- Merchandise function space skillfully to maximize revenue potential for the hotel, while ensuring the customer has the best possible meeting experience
- Solicitation of direct selling in the local Catering/Wedding market
- Merchandise function space and attain maximum average rate and room rental wherever appropriate
- Be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities, facilities and amenities, as well as local businesses and attractions
- Deliver proposals and contracts within 24 hours of request
- Conduct site tours and communicate thoroughly any site tour needs to other departments
- Communicate function arrangements to all responsible hotel departments
- Communicate with clients prior to conventions to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions
- Maintain client contact and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings
- Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings
