FIBER & UTILITY INFRASTRUCTURE
Crestone Services Group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team supporting all divisions within the Colorado area. This role involves installing and maintaining underground infrastructure, including conduit, fiber, and copper systems to support telecommunications, data networks, and fire mitigation projects.
Crestone Services Group is a premier provider of utility construction services across the western United States, specializing in directional drilling, plowing, trenching, spider plowing, hydro excavation, micro trenching, Fast Fusion, fiber optic installation, and comprehensive underground utility construction solutions.
JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing and growing a strong book of business by identifying, pursuing, and securing qualified customers. This individual focuses on new business development through proactive prospecting, sales calls, client meetings, trade shows, travel, and other strategic outreach activities. The ideal candidate is a driven sales professional with proven expertise in construction-related sales, particularly in the utility, data center, broadband network, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive sales in construction and infrastructure markets, with focus on micro trenching, telecommunications, fiber installation, copper installation, directional drilling, and water and sewer sectors utilizing directional drilling and trenching for conduit and utility placement.
- Expand business in data centers, broadband networks, renewable energy projects, municipal utilities, and large-scale private developments.
- Prospect, negotiate, and close sales opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Proactively identify, target, and acquire new customers to expand the company’s client base.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and meetings with prospective clients.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
- Develop tailored proposals and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, estimating, and project management) to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Track sales pipeline, forecast opportunities, and report regularly on progress toward sales goals.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in CRM platforms, bidding/estimating tools, and sales pipeline management software.
- Results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Established industry network and customer base.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Five plus years of sales experience in construction, utilities, or telecommunications.
- Proven risk management experience in construction projects.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management best practices and current rules and regulations related to construction.
COMPENSATION
- Compensation consists of a base salary plus a monthly commission.
- The current combined compensation range is $100,000 to $200,000 annually (base salary commission).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full-time, on-site position based at our local office; no remote or hybrid options.
- Requires regular travel to client sites, trade shows, and industry events.
- Office and field-based role with periods of time on construction sites.
