This individual focuses on new business development through proactive prospecting, sales calls, client meetings, trade shows, travel, and other strategic outreach activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive sales in construction and infrastructure markets, with focus on micro trenching, telecommunications, fiber installation, copper installation, directional drilling, and water and sewer sectors utilizing directional drilling and trenching for conduit and utility placement.
- Expand business in data centers, broadband networks, renewable energy projects, municipal utilities, and large-scale private developments.
- Prospect, negotiate, and close sales opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Proactively identify, target, and acquire new customers to expand the company's client base.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and meetings with prospective clients.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
- Develop tailored proposals and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, estimating, and project management) to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Track sales pipeline, forecast opportunities, and report regularly on progress toward sales goals.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in CRM platforms, bidding/estimating tools, and sales pipeline management software.
- Results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Established industry network and customer base.
- Five plus years of sales experience in construction, utilities, or telecommunications.
- Proven risk management experience in construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management best practices and current rules and regulations related to construction.
- Compensation consists of a base salary plus a monthly commission.
- The current combined compensation range is $100,000 to $200,000 annually (base salary commission).
- Full-time, on-site position based at our local office; no remote or hybrid options.
- Requires regular travel to client sites, trade shows, and industry events.
