Electronics Technician

Crescent Systems Inc., (CSI) – a custom hardware/software engineering defense contractor is seeking a talented Electonics Technician. The Electronics Technician will assist Engineers in product development, production, installation, test, maintenance, and RMAs. This Technician will maintain systems integration and development labs. This is a full-time position with commensurate benefits. Hours are flexible, but center around normal business hours with some odd hours to support programs. Travel will be required on rare occasion.

The selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and will be subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Primary Responsibilities

· Run test procedures on assembled hardware

· Run test procedures on integrated software and hardware systems

· Document and analyze test results

· Perform RMAs on hardware units returned to CSI

· Assemble and install cables and hardware

· Maintain lab cable drawings and interconnect documentation

· Track and characterize issues with hardware in labs

· Maintain organization of equipment and lab space

· Order equipment and supplies

· Install and maintain basic computer configurations

Qualifications

· Experience in MIL 38999 and D-Sub cable assembly

· Experience in cable routing and installation to the IPC-620 standard

· Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hardware

· Skill in soldering of cables and PCB components

· Proficiency with test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, and protocol analyzers

· Understanding of electrical serial interfaces such as RS-422, RS-232, and USB

· Proficiency in office software including Microsoft Visio

· Ability to read schematics and assembly drawings

· Understanding of configuration management systems

· Ability to solve problems analytically and methodically

· Ability to determine root causes of issues through systematic debugging

· Ability to communicate technical details accurately, both orally and written

· Attention to detail

· Strong organizational skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives without supervision

· Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs

· Ability to hold DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

· Technical Associates Degree in Electronics or the equivalent combination of education and experience

· 5 years of related experience in hardware and cable debugging, assembly, modification, installation, and repair
