Lifeguard & Water Activities Associate – Splash Safari
Role Overview: Join the heart of the action at Splash Safari Water Park and Beach! This dual-responsibility role is designed for versatile team members who excel at both safety and guest engagement. You will primarily serve as a Lifeguard, ensuring the highest standards of water safety, while also transitioning into an Activities Team Member, leading interactive games and family-oriented resort entertainment. Whether you are on the stand or leading a poolside event, your mission is to deliver a safe, 5-star experience.
Essential Job Functions:
As a Lifeguard (Safety First):
- Vigilance: Oversee all activities at the water park and beach areas, maintaining constant observation of guests to ensure a safe environment.
- Rule Enforcement: Fairly and consistently enforce all water safety regulations and resort conduct policies.
- Emergency Response: Act as a first responder to all water-related emergencies, performing rescues, providing First Aid, and administering CPR as needed.
- Facility Care: Perform daily safety inspections of water park equipment and beach areas. Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the beach and aquatic gear.
As an Activities Associate (Guest Engagement):
- Programming: Lead and facilitate interactive games, crafts, and group activities for guests of all ages, with a focus on children and families.
- Resort Spirit: Assist with the execution of themed events, poolside competitions, and resort-wide entertainment to create a vibrant atmosphere.
- Operational Support: Handle the setup and strike of activity areas and assist with concessions or food and beverage service as required.
- Hospitality: Actively engage with guests to anticipate needs and provide a welcoming, "Genuine Texas Hospitality" environment.
Employment Standards:
- Age: Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Certification: Must possess a Valid Lifeguard Certification (required for both lifeguard and activities shifts).
- Safety Training: Current Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; AED certification is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal communication and the ability to interact with guests of all ages in an energetic and fun manner.
- Experience: Prior experience in guest engagement, childcare, or organized activities is a significant plus.
- Appearance: Must maintain a neat, professional image and adhere to specific uniform standards (approved swimwear, branded T-shirts, whistles, and logoed hats).
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Environment: Ability to work outdoors in various Texas weather conditions while remaining alert and observant.
- Stamina: Must be physically fit, strong, and agile; able to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 45 lbs.
- Decision Making: Ability to assess situations quickly and make critical safety decisions under pressure.
- Teamwork: A team-oriented mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and a positive "can-do" attitude.
