QA Supervisor

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining quality and food safety programs while assuring that product meets or exceeds customer requirements.  Leads and trains the Quality Assurance Technician staff to provide necessary documentation for regulatory and business requirements.  Assists other departments to foster a “team environment” to meet Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, LLC business goals.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides leadership and direction to hourly quality assurance staff.
2. Maintains accurate business records.
3. Develops training programs to provide growth for the quality assurance staff.  
4. Provides for coaching, development and when necessary discipline.  Appraises performance of assigned staff as to their performance with appropriate feedback.
5. Ensures that sanitation, food safety and other regulatory requirements are met on a daily basis.
6. Provides for a safe working environment to assure that all employees including those not assigned to the department are following health and safety policies of Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, LLC.
7. Verifies labor hours and payroll report accuracy.   
8. Develops and maintains a cost effective schedule to maximize profitability through the use of labor and supply resources.
9. Modifies as necessary plant quality manual under direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, Food Safety and Technical Services.
10. Provides feedback on improvement of current programs to the Quality Assurance Manager, Food Safety and Technical Services.
11. Works closely with operational departments to assure that Creekstone Farms goals are met.
12. Maintains quality standards by ensuring product is made according to company specifications.
13. Investigates customer complaints for quality defects. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Minimum 5 years experience as a supervisor in a quality assurance or operations function.
2. Working knowledge of beef processing, ground beef and USDA regulatory requirements.
3. Experience working with a diverse labor force.
4. Ability to maintain high expectation for self and others, demonstrating a dedication to achieve or exceed goals.
5. Demonstrated ability to function within a high paced environment.  Is able to deal effectively and systematically with change!
6. Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
7. Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.
8. Ability to work independently of supervision and within a team environment.
9. IHA HACCP certificate, bilingual in English/Spanish, SQF2000 and / or ISO9000 preferred.  Member of American Society for Quality a plus.
