The Job at a Glance
The Commercial Servicing & Participation Reporting Specialist is responsible for the accurate servicing, reporting, and post-close administration of commercial and business loans. This role requires a strong understanding of all functions within the Loan Servicing Department, with a focus on commercial loan on boarding, quality control, participation reporting, pool sales, and merger-related loan reviews.
The Specialist ensures timely and accurate processing of commercial loans, maintains data integrity, and supports both internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication and collaboration with team members, business partners, and participating institutions are critical to success in this role.
A Typical Day
- Assist with the preparation and completion of month-end participation reporting and remittances, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to participating institutions.
- Manually onboard new commercial loans, verifying complete documentation, proper system entry, and compliance with internal servicing guidelines.
- Conduct quality control (QC) on new commercial loans, reviewing loan files, documentation, and system data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and complete KI queues to address pending loan servicing tasks and ensure data integrity.
- Participate in merger post-loan reviews, validating transferred commercial loan data, assisting in resolving discrepancies, and supporting a smooth conversion process.
- Complete and balance commercial pool sales, reconciling transactions and ensuring proper reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform verification of commercial mortgages and participate in participant audit reviews, ensuring compliance with investor and internal standards.
- Maintain and process tax and insurance tracking on mortgages.
- Assist with preparation of amortization schedules for commercial loans, supporting servicing calculations, interest accruals, and reporting needs.
- Respond to inquiries related to commercial loan servicing, both internally and externally, providing timely and accurate information.
- Maintain and process tax and insurance tracking on commercial mortgages.
- Verify the accuracy of commercial loan data entered into the system, updating missing information, and applying corrections as needed.
- Post loan payments, reversals, and corrections, including complex commercial loan adjustments.
- Prepare and process payoffs, verifications, and loan discharges for commercial loans.
- Support internal teams and external business partners with servicing requests, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Cross-train in all areas of the Loan Servicing Department as directed by Management.
- Take on a leadership role within the Credit Union by supporting the mission of helping members achieve their fullest economic potential and promoting organizational success.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What We Look For
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
