Job Summary:
Facilitates physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and constantly monitors maintenance of the sterile field.
Job Details:
- Position: Surgical Tech
- Location: Tillamook, OR
- Shift: Variable Shift 3, 12 hour shifts nights and weekends/holidays (1845- 0715)
- Contract: 13 weeks with possible extension
- Tentative start date: 10/12/2026
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required
- Relevant acute care experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications:
- National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified: Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room.
- Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure.
- Anticipates surgeon's needs for additional supplies.
- Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
- Prepares sterile dressings.
- Secures dressings after incision closure.
- Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.
- Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedure.
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
- Helps drape sterile field.
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
- Assists other members of team with cleaning of room for turnover.
- Assists in prepping room for the next patient.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay: $1,720.00 - $1,858.00 per week
