What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper Representative / Key Account Development Manager position at Creative Transportation Services?
We’re not looking for someone to “manage accounts.”
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of customer relationships and treats every shipment like it’s their own business on the line.
At Creative Transportation Services, we help businesses move freight efficiently and reliably. Our customers depend on us—and when things go wrong (because sometimes they do), we step up.
This role is for someone who:
- Doesn’t panic under pressure
- Communicates clearly and confidently
- Takes responsibility instead of making excuses
- Actually enjoys solving problems in real time
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and growing a portfolio of active shipping customers
- Coordinating daily shipments and solving issues as they arise
- Communicating with customers, carriers, and internal team members
- Handling time-sensitive situations (delays, changes, issues) with urgency
- Building long-term relationships—not just processing transactions
What Success Looks Like
- Customers trust you and ask for you directly
- Problems get handled quickly without escalation
- You retain and grow accounts over time
- You bring calm and clarity when things get chaotic
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication skills (this is non-negotiable)
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- High level of accountability—you own your work
- Problem-solver mindset (not just task completion)
Bonus if you have:
- Freight brokerage / logistics experience
- Experience managing customer relationships in a service-based business
What This Job Is NOT
- Not a sit-back-and-process role
- Not for someone who avoids difficult conversations
- Not for someone who needs constant direction
Why This Role Matters
Our customers rely on us to keep their business moving. You are the front line of that experience.
If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in doing things right—and stepping up when it counts—we want to talk.
