About Us:

We are a growing, high-quality childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. We are seeking a strong, organized, and hands-on Child Care Director to lead daily operations, support staff, and ensure compliance with all licensing and program requirements.

Position Summary:

The Child Care Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff performance, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and fostering strong relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

- Maintain staff schedules to always ensure proper coverage, including openings, closings, and call-outs

- Monitor staff attendance and punctuality

- Oversee daily classroom schedules and ensure smooth operations

- Ensure each classroom implements lesson plans and follows daily routines

- Monitor classroom engagement, including outdoor time and daily activities

- Ensure consistent communication between teachers and families

- Oversee child assessments, documentation, and follow-up with teaching staff

- Maintain CACFP food counts and compliance

- Foster a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

Facility Management:

- Ensure the center is clean, organized, and free of hazards (including pest control)

- Oversee daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning procedures

- Maintain functionality of all facility equipment (bathrooms, sinks, appliances, etc.)

- Manage classroom materials and supplies

- Oversee inventory and purchasing within budget (cleaning supplies, curriculum, etc.)

- Maintain supply subscriptions and ordering systems

Family Engagement:

- Conduct tours and follow up with prospective families to maintain 95% or more enrollment rate

- Address parent concerns in a timely and professional manner

- Communicate classroom transitions to families

- Support and organize family engagement events

- Monitor and enforce operational policies, including pick-up times

Administrative Responsibilities:

- Maintain staff records and ensure compliance with required documentation

- Track and ensure completion of health, safety, and professional development trainings

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date child records and required forms (OSSE compliance)

- Ensure all documentation is current and properly filed

- Maintain subsidy tracking and documentation

- Monitor daily attendance using OATS

- Ensure all admission documents are complete and properly signed

- Maintain first aid supplies and classroom kits

- Conduct and document monthly fire drills

- Maintain logs for smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and safety inspections

- Keep all required logs updated (incident reports, extermination logs, safety evaluations)

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) or a related field or Associate degree in ECE with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in early childhood education.

- Previous experience as a Child Care Director or Assistant Director preferred

- Strong knowledge of licensing regulations (OSSE experience preferred)

- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

- Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
