What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor (Seasonal) position at Creative Magic Camp?
The primary responsibilities of this position include providing adult supervision and basic child- care throughout the day. Someone who is experienced at managing a class the size of 20-40 people. Emmy-nominated featured magician, Ben Corey will be teaching creative skills and magic effects for ages 6-11. The Counselor supports the magician by distributing supplies and helping campers during practice sessions for very easy magic effects. As well as heading arts and crafts time via guiding campers through simple and fun daily projects. T
We are hiring for the final three weeks of camp: The week of August 3rd, August 10th, and August 17th. This is a full-time seasonal role with the hours from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM Mon-Fri.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a positive, fun, encouraging environment for the children
- Passionate about working with and leading children
- Ability to build campers confidence and enthusiasm
- Assist during the learning activities
- Assist with the coordination of other camp activities
- Great communication and organizational skills
- Works independently and able to resolve issues
- Ability to work reliably within a set schedule
- Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program
- Ability to assess safety concerns that would be of risk to children
- Ability to deliver basic first aid (band aids and icepacks) while taking preventive measures in advance
- Performing and creating skills (preferred but not required)
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for long periods at a time, stoop, bend, or ability to perform other physical activities as required
- Ability to get First Aid and CPR certification prior to or on first day of employment
- Covid-19 Vaccine
- State and Federal license or CDL (preferred but not required)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Drivers License
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
