Role Overview: The Prep Cook is a valued Dining Services member responsible for assisting with the Overall Dining Operational Productions. Their primary duty is to assist in creating high-quality, nutritious meals that are properly seasoned and prepared to meet the expected standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Culinary Support: Under the direction of the Food Service Director, prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a way that preserves food freshness, quality, and appeal.
- Kitchen Support: Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain production records and logs (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.). Maintain a clean and sanitized work. Ensures that all sanitation guidelines, health codes set by local and state Health Departments, as well as OSHA, are being followed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of Professional Culinary Experience
Work Schedule:
- Hours: [30-40 Weekly Hours]
- Varied 1st Shift Periods (Monday – Friday)
- Anticipated Annual Operating Schedule: 30-42 Weeks. College semesters; August – December; January – May)
- Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50
