What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook/Gill Cook - Part-Time (Potentially Full-Time) position at Creative Dining Services?
Creative Dining Services is looking for a part-time Cook/Grill Cook at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, IN. The Cook/Grill Cook works to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. Works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary and helping to provide a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for workers from all over the IUN campus.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
- Utilize safe food handling, holding and storage techniques at all times
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment at all times
- Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- ServSafe Certification
