What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Creative Dining Services?
Creative Dining Services is looking for an Administrative Assistant at Dordt University in Sioux Center, IA. With close partnership with the People Servces and Finance Departments, the Administrative Assistant works within the Dining Services Department as the primary clerical and administrative support person to the department, while greeting office visitors in a friendly and helpful manner. Works professionally and cooperatively as a valued member of the dining team, assisting with any administrative aspect of the dining services program.
Core Responsibilities
- Assures that each employee is set up and paid through the payroll processing system according to established procedures and deadlines.
Performs quality assurance inquiries related to employee payroll deductions, assuring that proper and accurate procedures are followed. Maintains accurate records of full-time employee benefit accruals including vacation and sick pay, as well as any earned bonus.
Maintains accurate records of employee attendance, communicating any attendance concerns to the dining services management team in a timely manner.
Following review of invoices by Dining Services Director, performs accounts payable functions according to established procedures and deadlines.
Performs accurate data entry for financial reporting.
Performs general accounting procedures for the department according to established procedures and deadlines.
Perform all administrative tasks related to new employee hiring procedures, such as initial paperwork, screenings, insurance enrollment, and file maintenance, assuring that all required forms are signed, forwarded to the CDS Home Office as needed, and/or placed in the employee file
The successful candidate will have:
- High School Degree or equivalent, higher education helpful
- Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Suite
- 10-key adding machine and other office equipment
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Experience performing administrative responsibilities preferred
