Our Metrowest client is looking for a full time contract Quality Control/Testing Specialist with 3 years experience. This role is 90% Hands-on product testing and operation and 10% Administrative tasks and documentation. This position is 100% onsite in the Greater Boston area and looking to start immediately and go until end of year. For this role, you must have education or experience in Food Science/Technology, Culinology, Culinary, or related fields.
Day in the life:
Assist in conducting KPI testing of food loads. Design and complete recipe validation testing. Support day to day testing of Food Scientists and Research Chefs. Defines and implements quality control processes to measure product or service compliance to design specifications. Creates and conducts sampling and testing procedures. Prepares documentation of findings and recommendations. Develops new processes and tools as needed in order to improve testing execution and impact.
Position Overview The team is seeking a contractor to support hands-on product testing activities within the Test Kitchen environment; this role is 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct hands-on testing of products in the Test Kitchen.
Partner closely with Sydney and the research/culinary team on food load testing and product validation.
Support recipe validation efforts for new products, including coffee makers and cooking appliances.
Execute testing protocols, document results, identify issues, and escalate concerns as needed.
Assist with preparing and cooking recipes on various products to ensure performance and functionality.
Receive training on analytical and technical processes through internal SharePoint resources.
Ideal Background
Food Science, Culinary Arts, or related hands-on kitchen/lab experience preferred.
Comfortable working in a laboratory or kitchen environment.
Adaptable, curious, quick learner, and able to think on their feet.
Strong communication skills and willingness to proactively raise concerns or issues.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Hands-on culinary, kitchen, or lab-based testing experience.
