What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video Editor / Content Creator position at Creative Circle?
Our client, a large religious nonprofit organization, is currently looking for a freelance Video Editor / Content Creator to support their digital and brand marketing team for up to 20 hours a week starting off for about 3 months with potential to extend.
Please note, an assessment will be given as part of the interview process.
**This is 20 hours a week starting ASAP after onboarding, and is a REMOTE role for NY / NJ / CT based candidates* Even though it is remote, this client only wants to see candidates located within a commuting distance of NYC in case they need to come onsite occasionally.**
This role is primarily focused on creating ads for organic and paid media in static, animated, and video formats using existing footage and editing it. There is a high-volume digital content needs, with a primary focus on editing short-form visual assets. BONUS if you have ability to shoot footage.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent storyteller with a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You should be passionate about making a positive social impact with a cause based org and be committed to producing content that aligns with the org's brand and values and that resonates with a diverse audience.
Responsibilities:
- Edit footage together to create visually compelling static and animated digital display ads for various online platforms that effectively communicate messaging and calls to action (footage will be of varying quality as some is shot professionally and some on cell phones etc)
- Collaborate with design team and use design tools to produce visually impactful graphics, banners, and digital assets (can use Canva and Adobe CS)
- Ensure visuals align to the messaging that reflects the organization's mission, values, and programs
- Utilize AI-driven tools to assist with content creation, brainstorming ideas, and streamlining content workflows
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions, offering creative ideas for upcoming initiatives and campaigns
- Collaborate with digital channel managers and other internal stakeholders to develop content calendars, aligning messaging with campaign timelines and goals
- Stay informed on trends in nonprofit digital marketing and content strategy, bringing fresh ideas to the table for content development.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in content creation, preferably in a nonprofit or social impact environment and with some fundraising/donor experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and graphic design tools are a must!
- Superb communicator, who understands how the written word and visuals work together to reinforce messaging
- Proven track record of producing engaging content for digital platforms (email marketing, paid media, websites)
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for social impact and nonprofit work
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Self-motivated and proactive with a problem-solving mindset
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
