What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Graphic Designer (Events) position at Creative Circle?
Our business services client is looking for a Senior Experiential Designer to join their team! This is a 40 hr/week, 3-6 month assignment with a strong possibility to extend.
Candidates MUST LIVE in one of the following cities to be considered: Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Portland, St. Louis. Candidates must agree to a hybrid schedule - 1st day onsite, then as business needs.
Key responsibilities:
You will conduct design consultations with a strong understanding of business needs. You may develop and co-develop creative briefs, storyboards and layouts that clearly and inclusively communicate design ideas. You'll create and execute design solutions that captures the event theme while aligning with business objectives, producing visually compelling experiential deliverables, pitches and presentations. You will provide constructive feedback to support the project vision and be responsible for producing high-quality event materials. There may be time where you will serve as a project manager for assigned projects, managing timelines and estimates aligned to project scope.
As a strong communicator and collaborator, you'll clearly articulate creative ideas and design decisions across multiple events, event workstreams and projects, applying both business and creative acumen to support your design solutions. You'll contribute to a high-performing team environment and collaborate closely with creative directors, art directors, peers, cross-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver compelling, business-aligned design solutions that clearly communicate the theme or core message and elevate the event experience. You'll also consult with internal clients to build and maintain strong relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related discipline or equivalent work experience
- Creative digital portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and design skills
- At least 5 years of related experience as a senior graphic designer in event design
- Experience working in a fast paced, matrixed agency or in-house team environment to develop a range of creative initiatives
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on photoshop and knowledge of scaling artwork for large outlier sizes
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams with the ability to learn new tools on-the-job as technology advances, tools like Microsoft Copilot
- Strong knowledge and skills in designing interactive and static presentations
- Ability to understand the internal client's vision through active listening, advanced communication and diplomacy with business partners, project owners, managers and internal team members
- Ability to develop creative briefs, mood and image boards
- Sound business acumen to adapt while working alongside client-serving professionals
- Excel at managing multiple projects, prioritizing milestones, and influencing clients and design colleagues to deliver desirable solutions within time frame and budget
- Ability to initiate and successfully engage in creative ideation sessions and design sprints
- Advanced technical understanding of digital media and print design in-house and with vendors
- Willingness to accept administrative responsibilities such as project management and internal client communications along with creative development and design
- Able to travel onsite to support the live event if the opportunity arises
