What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Designer position at Creative Circle?
Our client is seeking a Packaging Designer. This role is 35 hours a week ongoing and will require you to come onsite to their NYC office at least 2 times per week.
Designers coming from beauty/cosmetics/fragrance will be prioritized. Focus on Packaging expertise (secondary packaging: cartons, press vehicles, gift boxes etc.)but additional print GWPS experience would be ideal.
Packaging Designer Responsibilities:
- Driving multiple projects spanning a variety of creative needs within the scope of inline packaging, launch-related collateral projects, and print-based PR projects
- Assist the Art Director on Global Creative Studio in concept development for upcoming launches by developing standout packaging using current and projected beauty trends for requested region specific bundles, PR Kits and collateral
- Ability to quickly interpret feedback and deliver timely revisions
- Review all incoming DTOs from our Agency partners, and reviewing vendor artwork against our brand standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure effective packaging solutions for our products and launches, including reviewing legacy artwork, new launches, and limited editions
- Maintain and review artwork using our style guides, color targets, and product samples to ensure quality in final production
- Create and maintain design guidelines on all core products
- Review Environmental initiatives with Production Sustainability to maintain brand standards
- Catalog and develop approved collateral for past upcoming launches
Packaging Designer Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Beauty and Cosmetics
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Experience collaborating cross-functional teams and vendors
- Strong typographic and graphic design skills
- Packaging development and production knowledge, preferably in beauty
- Detail oriented with ability to be manage multiple projects
- Create solutions to pivot in real time with clear communication
- Bachelors degree in a related field ideally
