Overview of the Role
Our global sportswear brand client is seeking an Apparel Graphic Designer to support basketball apparel and signature athlete collections. This role focuses on creating original graphic concepts for tee shirts and apparel, including typography, illustration, logo development, and seasonal graphic systems that connect with basketball culture and consumers.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller with deep knowledge of basketball, sport culture, and apparel graphics who can bring fresh creative ideas from concept through execution.
The Basics
- Duration: 7 months
- Location: Hybrid, Beaverton, OR
- Onsite: 4 days onsite per week, remote Fridays
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 5 years of apparel graphic design experience, with strong tee-shirt graphic design work
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong connection to basketball, sport culture, and consumer trends
Portfolio Requirements
- Candidates should provide examples demonstrating:
- Tee-shirt graphic design
- Apparel graphics and typography
- Original illustrations and graphic systems
- Logo or athlete mark development
- Basketball, sport, lifestyle, or streetwear-inspired work
- Concept development through final execution
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, or related field preferred
- Experience creating original graphics, typography, illustrations, and logo systems
- Strong understanding of color, layout, composition, and visual storytelling
- Experience designing for apparel or consumer products
- Ability to develop concepts from research through final execution
- AI visualization skills are a plus
- Experience with CLO, 3D design tools, or digital product creation is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Create original graphics for basketball apparel and signature athlete collections
- Design tee-shirt graphics, typography systems, illustrations, and seasonal visual concepts
- Develop logos, graphic marks, and storytelling elements for apparel programs
- Translate athlete, consumer, and cultural insights into compelling graphic narratives
- Partner with design, product creation, and development teams throughout the design process
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, concept reviews, and seasonal design presentations
- Create presentation materials and communicate design intent to stakeholders
- Ensure graphics align with brand standards and product objectives
