Role Description
We’re looking for an Assistant Video Editor who thrives on getting things done. This role is less about creative editing and more about execution, someone who can take a large volume of content, stay organized, and consistently move projects forward without getting stuck.
If you’re the kind of person who can jump into a big workload, stay focused, and steadily work through it, you’ll do well here. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Orem, UT, for an Assistant Video Editor.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain Adobe Premiere Pro projects
- Build assembly edits from provided direction
- Reframe content for multiple formats (social, vertical, etc.)
- Create and apply captions/subtitles
- Archive footage and manage project assets
- Coordinate and ship hard drives as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Able to handle a high volume of repetitive, process-driven work
- Self-starter who can jump into large tasks without hesitation
- Comfortable working through long queues of content efficiently
- Learns workflows and systems quickly, then follows them consistently
- Reliable, proactive, and able to maintain momentum without constant oversight
- Bonus: Photoshop or additional Adobe experience
The Reality of the Role
This position involves a steady stream of content that needs to be processed, organized, and delivered efficiently. Success in this role comes from consistency, speed, and attention to detail, not from reinventing the edit each time.
That said, there’s strong upside for growth. You’ll have opportunities to be on set, assist across departments, and learn directly from experienced editors, cinematographers, writers, and other creatives. The more initiative you show, the more exposure and responsibility you’ll gain.
If you enjoy structured workflows, staying busy, and knocking out a high volume of work, and want access to hands-on learning in a real production environment, this is a great fit.
