About CRC Salomon
Founded in 1898, CRC Salomon is one of the nation’s first court reporting companies. We provide court reporting and litigation support to law firms, courts, government agencies, and businesses, with services that include transcription, legal video, and remote proceedings. Our clients rely on accurate work and dependable service. The office team helps deliver both, from preparing a conference room for a deposition to getting a complete set of exhibits to the right colleague.
What you will do
- Welcome guests: Greet attorneys, clients, court reporters, and other visitors, help them get settled, and connect them with the right person.
- Keep the office ready: Help open and close the office, prepare conference rooms, reset shared spaces after meetings, and keep supplies stocked. Gather supply requests for ordering.
- Handle calls professionally: Answer incoming calls, assist with routine questions as trained, take accurate messages, and route requests promptly.
- Scan and organize documents: Scan exhibits and other materials, check that pages are complete and legible, and upload files to the correct locations.
- Manage mail and packages: Receive, log, sort, and distribute incoming materials. Prepare outgoing shipments and return documents or packages to clients and court reporters.
- Process check deposits: Prepare and scan check deposits accurately and promptly, following company procedures.
- Support transcript production: Help print, bind, check, and package transcripts and related materials. Learn additional production tasks as responsibilities develop.
- Support the wider team: Handle data entry, correspondence, and administrative requests across production, customer service, scheduling, and billing as assigned. Communicate progress and ask for direction when priorities conflict.
- Protect sensitive information: Handle client records, exhibits, financial information, and government transcript materials with discretion and care.
What we are looking for
- Dependability: You arrive on time, follow through, and can work on site in Pikesville five days a week.
- Attention to detail: You check your work, enter information accurately, and notice missing or inconsistent information.
- Organization and initiative: You can manage several requests, adjust to changing priorities, and complete familiar tasks without constant reminders.
- Clear communication: You write professional emails, speak courteously with guests and callers, and keep colleagues informed when something needs attention.
- Comfort with technology: You are comfortable with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and willing to learn our document and office systems. ReporterBase experience and familiarity with AI tools for routine writing are helpful extras.
- Willingness to learn: Office, reception, or administrative experience is helpful. Court reporting experience is not required. We will consider someone new to office work who demonstrates good judgment and a strong ability to learn.
Why work with us
You will work with a small on-site team and train with experienced colleagues who understand the work. Your contribution will be visible in an office that is ready for guests, documents that are available when needed, and fewer delays for the people producing transcripts.
We value teamwork, integrity, clear communication, and taking ownership. As you build your skills, there may be opportunities to learn additional responsibilities based on business needs.
Compensation and benefits
- Hourly compensation, with overtime pay when applicable.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with CRC contributing 50% of eligible premiums, including eligible dependent coverage.
- An HSA option with an eligible medical plan.
- A 401(k) retirement plan with a company match.
- 80 hours of annual paid time off, plus several paid holidays.
- Discretionary annual bonus potential tied to company performance.
Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements, waiting periods, and plan terms. Bonuses are discretionary and are not guaranteed.
Location and schedule
This is a full-time, hourly W-2 position, normally 40 hours per week, at 2201 Old Court Road, Pikesville, MD 21208.
You will work an assigned Monday through Friday shift within our usual 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. operating hours. Some flexibility is needed for earlier openings or later proceedings, with coverage shared across the office team. The position is fully on site.
