What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist position at CRC-Evans Pipeline International?
As a Machinist, you will operate manual and/or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers, lathes, and milling machines. Set-up and adjust CNC programs. Manual machining involves special one-off parts or prototype parts.
Role specific responsibilities
- Machines to be operated: VTL, Manual Lathes, CNC Lathes, Radial Arm Drill, Manual Mill, CNC Mill
- Read and follow complex blueprints and sketches, make machine and tooling adjustments for a wide range of parts
- Plan how operations will be performed on the machine. This includes part holding and alignment, proper tooling, operate both part and tool probing for accurate measurements, along with a variety of precision measuring instruments to verify exact tolerances and finishes
- Assist other machinist in set up and/or training as required
- Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts
- Perform minor maintenance and servicing of machines as cleaning and oiling machines
- Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
Work Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years experience in Manufacturing Machine Shop environment
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
- Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines
- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
- Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift
- Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
