SUMMARY:
Crazy Shirts’ purpose is to create original and memorable artwork on quality products that take our customers on the endless vacation in everyday life.
The eCommerce and Catalog Planner is responsible for shaping and managing the assortment, demand forecast, and inventory plan for Crazy Shirts’ eCommerce and Catalog channels. This role ensures that product launches, replenishment decisions, and inventory investments support profitable growth, strong in-stock performance, and a compelling customer experience. The Planner plays a key role in connecting product strategy, launch execution, and inventory productivity across both channels.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Own assortment, launch, and lifecycle planning for eCommerce and Catalog, including item introductions, expansions, reductions, exits, and promotional support in partnership with Marketing priorities.
- Partner in shaping website merchandising priorities, product presentation strategy, and testing opportunities that improve channel performance.
- Translate historical performance, seasonal priorities, and marketing plans into monthly and seasonal forecasts that guide Open-to-Buy and inventory investment decisions.
- Manage inventory health across eCommerce and Catalog by monitoring demand trends, replenishment needs, launch timing, and aged or underproductive inventory.
- Partner with Web, Marketing, Art, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure products are launch-ready with accurate setup, imagery, pricing, and supporting assets.
- Use channel reporting, web analytics, and product performance analysis to proactively identify performance issues and opportunities, diagnose root causes, and bring forward recommendations to improve assortment productivity, sell-through, margin, markdown effectiveness, and launch performance.
- Lead planning coordination for marketing photo shoots, seasonal drops, and related merchandising projects tied to eCommerce and Catalog execution.
Success Measures
- Forecasts are timely, credible, and useful in supporting sound inventory decisions, launch planning, and Open-to-Buy discipline.
- Core product, key programs, and top sellers maintain strong in-stock performance without creating unnecessary inventory exposure.
- Product launches are executed on time with the right inventory support, presentation readiness, and cross-functional coordination.
- Underperforming product is identified early, with clear recommendations to rebalance, markdown, exit, or adjust future buys.
- Analysis leads to actionable recommendations that improve conversion support, inventory productivity, and profitable channel growth.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Success in this role depends on strong cross-functional partnership to align launch timing, inventory flow, and product presentation across eCommerce and Catalog.
- Marketing: aligns promotional cadence, catalog timing, and campaign priorities with inventory readiness.
- Art and Merchandising leadership: helps shape new product direction, seasonal storytelling, and assortment strategy.
- Production: aligns timing, priorities, and capacity with launch dates and replenishment needs.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 to 3 years of apparel merchandising, buying, planning, allocation, inventory management, or closely related experience required.
- Strong analytical and systems skills, including intermediate Excel and comfort working in reporting and ERP environments.
- Ability to turn sales, inventory, and customer-demand information into clear recommendations and practical action plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across creative, operational, and leadership teams.
- Experience supporting eCommerce, Catalog, or other multi-channel product businesses is preferred.
- Demonstrates commercial judgment, ownership, analytical discipline, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with consistency.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting and computer-based work.
- Occasional bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
- Ability to travel as needed in support of catalog photo shoots or related merchandising work.
- Ability to comply with company workplace safety and health guidelines.
