What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Advisor position at Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation?
Interested in working at a distinctive college program nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota with Indigenous students who are committed to higher education success, navigating career pathways, and experiencing community building with other high achieving students? Crazy Horse Memorial University® at Crazy Horse Memorial®, in partnership with Black Hills State University, seeks Residential Advisors to provide on-site supervision and support in our Wichozani Spring Program (January-May 2026) and 7TH GEN.® Summer Program (June-August 2026).
Residential Advisors will supervise incoming freshmen students for over 8 weeks ensuring the health and safety of all participants, facilitating out-of-class activities, chaperone field trips, and assisting University staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants should possess a desire to work with a wide range of high school graduates from across the nation, provide mentor-style learning, and promote a positive learning and living community. Will be housed in the residence halls during the length of the employment agreement, with room and board provided. From this pool of applicants, we will pursue an Assistant Manager of Residence Life, a position with additional responsibilities and added compensation. Extra duties include coordinating group activities, problem solving, and effective communication to coordinators and administrators.
Some college is preferred. Applicants must possess a valid driving license and have the ability to pass a background check. Housing and meals are provided by Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. Compensation is competitive.
