Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas through regular cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing supplies
- Handle dogs and other animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and security
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and basic trimming to keep animals looking and feeling their best
- Support pet sitting services by monitoring animals’ behavior, providing companionship, and reporting any concerns to veterinary personnel
- Participate in dog training activities to reinforce good behavior and socialization skills
- Lift heavy items such as bags of pet food or supplies safely to prevent injury while maintaining a well-stocked kennel environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with animals, especially in veterinary clinics or kennels, is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills is a strong plus
- Experience with veterinary procedures or as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous
- Ability to perform pet grooming tasks and handle pets gently yet confidently
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, walking, and performing cleaning duties throughout the day
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and general animal care practices is essential
