What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Foreman – Crawlspace & Waterproofing position at Crawlspace Medic, LLC?
Looking for more than another construction job?
Crawlspace Medic of Columbus is a locally owned, established company serving Central Ohio.
This is a hands-on working foreman position. You'll lead a two- to three-person crew, work alongside them every day, and take responsibility for the job from start to finish.
We want to hand you a sold scope, company vehicle, tools, materials, and a crew — and trust you to lead the project through completion.
If you're already the person others rely on when a job gets difficult, this is an opportunity to step into a true leadership role with more responsibility, more independence, and room to grow.
Our work
- Crawlspace encapsulation and moisture control
- Basement and crawlspace waterproofing
- Interior drainage and sump pumps
- Insulation and air sealing
- Structural wood repair: joists, sill plates, subfloors, girders, and supports
- Fungal treatment, remediation, and minor carpentry
Every house is different. We're looking for someone who can think through problems, make good decisions in the field, and take pride in leaving behind quality work.
What you'll do
- Review the sold scope, plan the job, and keep the crew productive
- Work alongside the crew and lead by example
- Own the jobsite: quality, safety, cleanliness, materials, progress, and customer communication
- Troubleshoot unexpected conditions and make sound decisions in the field
- Know when to solve an issue yourself and when to involve the owner
- Plan tools and materials ahead to avoid preventable supply runs and downtime
- Provide job-status updates and document work with photos
- Verify the completed work matches the sold scope before the job is closed out
- Take care of company tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Train and develop technicians as the team grows
The biggest expectation is simple: take ownership. If something isn't right, don't walk past it.
Who we're looking for
- 3 years of construction or skilled-trade experience preferred
- Experience leading, training, or mentoring others
- Strong mechanical ability and confidence with construction tools
- Good problem-solving skills and jobsite judgment
- Dependable attendance and professional communication
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Able to work in crawlspaces and confined areas and lift up to 50 lbs
Strong backgrounds may include carpentry, framing, remodeling, foundation repair, waterproofing, restoration, drainage, concrete, plumbing, HVAC, or insulation.
Crawlspace or waterproofing experience is a plus but not required.
We can teach our methods. Judgment, dependability, and leadership are much harder to teach.
Framing and structural-repair experience is especially valuable.
Pay & benefits
- $25–$30/hour based on experience and ability
- Performance bonus opportunities
- Overtime when available
- Full-time, year-round work
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Local Central Ohio work — no overnight travel, home every night
- Paid time off after 90 days
- 9 paid holidays, including one floating holiday
- Company vehicle during work hours
- Company-provided tools, equipment, and work gear
- Paid training on our installation and repair methods
- Direct access to the owner
- Opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation as the company grows
You provide your work boots. We provide the rest of your normal field gear.
Where this can lead
As our team continues to grow, there will be opportunities for the right person to take on broader field leadership, including helping develop future crew leaders and potentially overseeing multiple crews.
You don't need to check every box. If you have a strong construction background, good judgment, and the kind of work ethic people can depend on, we'd like to hear from you.
