Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Probate Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role supports attorneys in all aspects of probate, estate, and trust administration. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Ohio probate court procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Job Responsibilities
Draft, review, and file probate documents such as petitions, inventories, accountings, waivers, and related pleadings.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and case summaries for attorneys and clients.
Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure compliance with court requirements.
Communicate with clients, heirs, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and courts to gather and provide information.
Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, mediations, and client meetings.
Organize estate and asset information, prepare spreadsheets, valuations, and distribution documentation.
Conduct legal and factual research related to probate and estate matters.
Maintain accurate records, billing entries, and timekeeping for all case-related activities.
Support trust administration, including accountings, notices, and distributions.
Provide professional and compassionate client support throughout the probate process.
Mentor junior paralegals and contribute to process improvements within the probate team.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in probate, estate, or trust law.
Strong knowledge of Ohio probate court procedures and filings.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Paralegal certification or degree preferred, but not required with strong relevant experience.
