Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy compliance, regulatory oversight, and operations for a fast-growing pharmaceutical distribution company. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and international regulations while supporting growth across domestic and global markets. The PIC will oversee controlled substances, specialty drug handling, and distribution processes, while partnering with leadership to scale operations and maintain the highest standards of compliance and safety.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for all pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
Maintain DEA registration, state pharmacy licenses, and other regulatory filings.
Oversee controlled substance inventory, ordering, storage, and recordkeeping.
Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, DSCSA, and state pharmacy regulations.
Support operational processes for specialty pharmaceuticals, biologics, and cold chain products.
Provide regulatory guidance for domestic and international pharmaceutical shipments.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train staff on compliance.
Collaborate with executive leadership to scale the pharmaceutical distribution platform.
Assist in evaluating suppliers, product sourcing, and licensing expansion.
Support ERP system compliance integration and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or RPh degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
Active North Carolina Pharmacist License.
Eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge.
Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, including controlled substances and regulatory compliance.
Experience with specialty pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical distribution, or wholesale operations preferred.
Knowledge of DEA, FDA, DSCSA, and state pharmacy regulations preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and business-minded problem-solving skills.
