Salary: $32 – $40 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Lead Marine Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of boats while leading a team of marine technicians. You will ensure optimal performance of engines, hulls, rigging, sails, and onboard systems. This role requires expertise in marine mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to marina members.
Job Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of marine technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely. Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all types of boats. Utilize diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair marine systems. Install and test sanitation, refrigeration, electrical, steering, and accessory systems. Replace, remove, and install vessel components as needed. Assess job requirements, including budgeted time and completion deadlines. Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets. Maintain and utilize own tools effectively. Be available for overtime to meet deadlines. Adhere to safety protocols and report all incidents immediately. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training preferred. 2–5 years of marine technician experience preferred. ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred. Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred. Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and ascend/descend ladders. Basic boat handling skills preferred. Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Eagerness to contribute in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. ,
