Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Intake Coordinator to support a growing Specialty Pharmacy and Home Infusion team.
You’ll coordinate new patient referrals while working with patients, providers, insurance companies, pharmacists, and clinical teams to ensure timely access to therapy.
What You’ll Do
- Process and coordinate new patient referrals.
- Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, coverage, and patient responsibility.
- Manage prior authorizations, reauthorizations, and clinical documentation.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, nurses, pharmacists, and insurance carriers.
- Conduct patient onboarding and follow-up calls.
- Coordinate refills, deliveries, nursing visits, and patient services.
- Maintain accurate documentation within pharmacy and EMR systems.
- Support billing and reimbursement processes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
- 1–2 years of intake, insurance verification, prior authorization, or patient access experience.
- Specialty Pharmacy or Home Infusion experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and specialty pharmacy benefits.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and authorization workflows.
- Excellent organization, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Experience with EMR systems, pharmacy software, and Microsoft Office.
- Pharmacy Technician License is a plus, but not required.
- $24–$30 /hour, flexible based on experience.
