Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their growing service team in Lubbock, TX. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing forklifts, material handling equipment, and heavy machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities and enjoy solving complex equipment issues in both shop and field environments.
Job Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts, material handling equipment, and heavy machinery. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service work. Repair and replace hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, fuel, diesel, gasoline, and propane system components. Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins. Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform field service calls as needed.
Qualifications: 2 years of mechanical experience preferred. Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Forklift Mechanic, Equipment Technician, or similar role. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline, and propane systems. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
