Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to join their growing team. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local regulations, and company requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. This position plays a key role in helping customers maintain safe, compliant, and fully operational life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and functional testing of fire alarm systems, including control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and auxiliary equipment.

Troubleshoot system issues and perform minor repairs as needed.

Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting deficiencies, recommendations, and compliance findings.

Communicate inspection results and corrective action recommendations clearly to customers.

Maintain working knowledge of NFPA 72, manufacturer specifications, and applicable local fire codes.

Coordinate with service and installation teams to resolve issues identified during inspections.

Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in proper working condition.

Provide professional, courteous, and customer-focused service at all times.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Electronics, Fire Protection, or a related field preferred.

NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I or higher) preferred.

State or local Fire Alarm Inspector License, where required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting, installing, or servicing fire alarm systems.

Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire codes.

Experience troubleshooting fire alarm systems and related equipment.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

Proficiency with inspection tools, testing devices, and reporting systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Professional, customer-focused attitude.
