Position Overview
The provider will focus exclusively on medical dermatology and will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide variety of skin conditions while collaborating with supervising physicians. This role emphasizes evidence-based care, patient education, and long-term community impact.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations and full-body skin examinations
- Diagnose and manage conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes, and other skin disorders
- Identify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions including AK, BCC, SCC, and melanoma within scope of practice
- Perform dermatology procedures including:
- Shave biopsies
- Punch biopsies
- Excisional biopsies
- Cryotherapy
- Lesion removal
- Wound care and post-procedure management
- Order and interpret dermatopathology and diagnostic testing
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Educate patients on skin health, prevention, and treatment expectations
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards
- Master’s Degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- Active North Carolina NP or PA License
- National Certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of dermatology experience required
- Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Dermatology certification or willingness to pursue certification after hire
- Experience performing biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal procedures
- Familiarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systems
