Commercial Architectural Project Manager Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple small to medium-sized projects from start to finish. This role coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, including scope, fees, proposals, schedules, and deliverables. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients and leads a team of CAD Technicians to ensure high-quality, on-time project execution. The role also supports client relationship management and future business development efforts while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of incoming projects, including scope, schedule, and client expectations
Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns
Lead project teams in producing residential and commercial architectural and engineering construction drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, and Revit
Oversee the development of lot-specific and master plans in accordance with client standards
Prepare, price, and follow up on proposals while maintaining accurate project records
Coordinate internal teams and third-party consultants
Perform quality assurance reviews, code compliance checks, and occasional CAD support
Communicate project status and risks to upper management
Mentor and support the development of junior team members, including performance feedback
Required Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction methods, construction documents, and Florida building codes
Understanding of quality assurance and quality control best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship management skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit in residential and/or commercial construction documentation
