Embark on an exciting journey into the world of commercial fishing with our Seasonal, Manual Labor Deckhand Apprenticeship! This paid, entry-level program is designed for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the halibut and sablefish fishing industry, no prior experience required. You will learn directly from working halibut and sablefish fishermen with real sea-time, while acquiring the skills necessary to chart your course towards a family wage in the North Pacific Fishery. Upon successful completion of the training, you will begin your career aboard a commercial fixed-gear halibut and sablefish fishing vessel. The Inbreaker Apprenticeship program begins early February with a 1-week training at Fishermen’s Terminal in Seattle, WA. Very low cost accommodations available onboard the historic tug - Arthur Foss and full scholarships available for eligible and qualified applicants.

Qualifications and Requirements
- No previous experience necessary; training will be provided on-site in Seattle, Wa.
- Tuition: $2,500. Full scholarships available for eligible and qualified applicants.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions, including lifting, standing, bending, and working in variable weather.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn about commercial fishing operations.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Willingness to work flexible hours during peak seasons, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts if required.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and in maritime environments.
- Must be at least 18 years old; valid identification required for employment verification.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
