What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Service Plumber position at Crawford Mechanical Services?
Crawford Mechanical Services, a Quantum Industrial company, works on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across critical industries—data centers, manufacturing, biopharma, and more.
We’re known for high standards, strong teams, and building people who want to grow. Our culture is centered around empowering our employees to reach their full potential by providing them with opportunities for growth, development, and personal and professional advancement. “We build people” who build amazing things.
We’re not looking to fill a seat—we’re adding to a strong team.
Our service group is made up of experienced plumbers who handle their work without shortcuts and take real pride in what they do.
We’re selective about who we bring in because one weak hire affects everyone—but the upside is you’re stepping into a team that’s organized, respected, and set up to do high-level work the right way.
If you’re someone who can pull your weight, solve problems in the field, and wants to be around other solid technicians, you’ll fit here.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Running commercial service calls—not just installs
- Diagnosing plumbing system issues (not just swapping parts)
- Repairing and maintaining piping systems, fixtures, and pumps
- Working on complex systems in commercial/industrial environments
- Communicating directly with customers—explaining issues and solutions
- Handling emergency calls as part of an on-call rotation
- Keeping your truck organized and your work documented
Senior-level plumbers will also:
- Handle complex diagnostics independently
- Mentor junior techs
- Help improve how we run service as we continue to grow
What You Won’t Get Here
- Micromanagement
- Disorganized jobs
- Being treated like “just another tech”
What You Will Get
- Steady, high-level commercial and industrial work
- A team that respects skilled tradespeople
- Competitive pay based on what you actually bring to the table
- Full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k with employer match)
- Ongoing training and growth opportunities
- A company that is serious about being the best—and hiring the best
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of plumbing experience (commercial strongly preferred)
- Journeyman or Master license (depending on state requirements)
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose—not just follow instructions
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Strong communication with customers and team
- Valid driver’s license and clean record
- Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, and endure physical demands such as climbing, bending, and kneeling.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and at heights.
- Must wear required PPE when necessary.
Bottom Line
If you’re a solid service plumber who takes pride in your work and wants to be around other high performers—apply.
If you’re just looking for another job, this probably isn’t it.
