We are Cravencrow Costuming, makers of high quality renaissance festival costumes. We are hiring for our production studio in Alverado, TX. If you love sewing with lots of unique fabrics, lace, and trims then this is the job for you!
Join our team as an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator and become a vital part of producing high-quality, durable costumes. In this role, you will operate advanced industrial sewing machines to assemble, finish, and enhance a variety of materials, including fabrics and trims. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in garment construction, materials handling, and sewing techniques within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Hybrid schedule available for someone with industrial sewing equipment in their home. Hybrid schedule would be in the studio one to three days a week and then sewing from home the rest of the week.
Duties
- Operating sewing machines such as serging, embroidery, and garment sewing equipment to assemble and finish products according to specifications.
- Measure materials and finished products using precise measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and adherence to quality standards.
- Handle fabric materials and trims carefully, ensuring proper alignment and seam construction during sewing processes.
- Monitor production quality by inspecting seams, stitching, and overall craftsmanship, making adjustments as needed to meet quality standards in production.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety standards in production and handling materials properly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines such as sergers, embroidery machines, or other garment sewing equipment.
- Strong understanding of seam construction, garment sewing techniques, and sewing construction principles.
- Knowledge of fabric materials including textiles and trims used in manufacturing and costuming projects.
- Experience with manual cutting (fabric cutting) and handling various textiles
- Commitment to safety standards in production environments with a focus on safe machine operation and materials handling.
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially related to inventory management of fabrics and sewing supplies.
