What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Part-Time position at Craven County?
Performs work in the operation of a van or other vehicles to assure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations.An employee in this class drives a van or other vehicle over a scheduled route to transport clients to various locations through-out a designated service delivery area. Work is primarily transporting to and from the meal sites, Health Department, Social Services Department, medical facilities, grocery stores, drug stores, and other desired locations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a variety of records such as time at each stop, purpose of trip, number of passengers per day, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.A valid North Carolina Driver's License and a minimum of five years driving experience is required. This position is subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. This position requires that the successful applicant have no points on their driving license. Pre-employment as well as periodic background checks, including criminal and driving records is require. Must exercise tact and courtesy in dealing with the public and other personnel. Assists passengers in getting in and out of van. Performs related duties as may be required.
