What are the responsibilities and job description for the VDC Coordinator position at Cranshaw Construction?
Cranshaw is seeking a VDC Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the MEP coordination efforts of assigned projects. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in various software packages utilized through the process. This individual must be capable of managing multiple diverse teams of subcontractor MEP coordinators to develop fully coordinated 3D models in accordance with agreed upon schedules and communicating effectively with the project teams.

Primary Responsibilities
Pre-Construction / Estimating / Pursuits
· Assists project teams with content for proposals, interviews, and preconstruction as required
· Actively participates in interviews if required
· Understands the basic design and spatial requirements of building mechanical, electrical, and associated systems
· Accurately informs budget and schedule with respect to VDC Services
· Reviews drawings and notes constructability concerns, incomplete scopes of work and dimensional problems, as applicable, to ensure early detection and timely correction of any potential issues
· Creates 4D preconstruction sequencing and logistics models using CM Builder for RFP responses and client presentations
Construction
· Understands interdisciplinary spatial coordination and uses software including Revit, Navisworks, and Procore to manage
· Independently manages the coordination process and effectively collaborates with project team members
· Documents coordination issues or concerns in Procore Coordination tool
· Provides technical support to the project team throughout the construction process, including model updates necessitated by bulletins/change directives
· Educates project teams on coordination and technology
· Supports field QA/QC efforts as necessary
· Compile and curate as-built models and drawings for inclusion with the O&M package
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, preferred but not required
· Experience with plumbing or HVAC coordination
· Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
· Proficient in the use of hardware and software central to VDC services, including Navisworks, Revit, Procore coordination tools, AutoCAD, Bluebeam or equivalent PDF editing software and CM Builder
· Demonstrated strength in managing time and thriving in a fast paced- environment
· Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
· Proactively anticipates issues and takes steps to mitigate risks
· Continuously looks for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency
