Crank and Dasher is a local ice cream business with shops located in the Fitger's Complex and the Lakeside neighborhood of Duluth, as well as wholesale accounts in Duluth and the Twin Cities. We are looking for a new member of our production team who has experience working in a kitchen, is interested in creating new flavors, and is a dynamic business-minded person with a passion for growth and innovation. We want YOU to join our team as our Ice Cream Maker!
As Ice Cream Maker, you will be responsible for making a variety of ice cream and sorbets, as well as cooking, baking, and making items such as caramel, brownies, cookies, cakes, toffee, candied nuts, and more. You will also learn how we hand-pack every pint and distribute to a variety of stores. You will come up with daily and weekly production schedules to ensure consistent and efficient production in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You are expected to know health code requirements and will be responsible for keeping a clean and organized work environment daily. ServSafe certification preferred, but we will assist in obtaining certification if needed.
This position may also eventually include tasks such as running errands, making deliveries, admin work, sending emails, processing invoices, networking, and more.

Responsibilities:
Cook, bake, chop, mix, and other kitchen processes to make ice cream and confectionery
Follow recipes and create food products the same way every time
Create weekly production schedules to ensure products are always in stock
Maintain a cheerful and cooperative relationship with fellow employees
Communicate and provide updates with owner, fellow managers, and employees
Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change tasks at a moment’s notice
Stay organized and multi-task in an efficient manner, paying close attention to detail
Previous kitchen experience required; ServSafe Certificate preferred
Must be 18 years of age or older
Full time: 40 hours per week
Starting at $15 an hour for 30-45 day training, followed by a negotiable raise
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
