Senior Accounting Manager

The Senior Accounting Manager will be managing payroll operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. Preparing journal entries, reconciling payroll-related accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. Strong expertise in payroll systems, internal controls, tax reporting, and audit support, with a proven ability to improve processes, ensure accuracy, and meet critical deadlines.

Essential Job Functions

• Gather and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
• Conduct statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates and significant changes and write narrative reports explaining findings.
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
• Ascertain proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.
• Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
• Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
• Assist accounting management with review, processing, preparing and analysis of monthly close entries.
• Responsible for reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as assigned and ensuring accuracy of account balances.
• Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures. As well as the accounting process and procedures for improvement of the company’s accounting operations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• 8 years of accounting experience; corporate accounting preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite.
• Intermediate level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including general ledger journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and payroll.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
• Experience with Payroll systems; UKG a plus.
• Strong analytical and auditing skills.
• Ability to identify and implement new processes for efficiency and enhanced controls.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
