Job Summary:
Crane Service Company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage the movement and tracking of heavy equipment between storage facilities and job sites across the DMV area. This individual will play a key role in scheduling, working with dispatch, and coordinating logistics to ensure efficient, timely, and safe transport of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule the transportation of cranes heavy equipment between storage yards and customer job sites across the DMV region.
- Work closely with drivers, operators, project managers, and dispatch to ensure proper timing and resource allocation.
- Track all equipment movements in real-time using logistics software, spreadsheets, or GPS platforms.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment location and availability.
- Communicate with clients and internal teams to confirm delivery/pickup times and site requirements.
- Monitor and optimize routing to reduce fuel costs and delays.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, permitting requirements, and safety standards for oversized or overweight loads.
- Resolve any on-the-ground delivery issues or schedule changes quickly and professionally.
- Maintain transportation logs, delivery documentation, and job records.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or equipment coordination (construction or crane industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the DMV area and its transportation routes and restrictions.
- Experience with DOT regulations, oversize/overweight permits, and safety compliance.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and logistics software or GPS tracking systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- CDL or background in transportation a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with some field work at storage facilities or job sites as needed.
- May involve occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours depending on project schedules.
