Position Summary:

The Production Operator is responsible for executing vacuum acquisition, pressure testing, and mass spectrometry procedures on stainless steel piping assemblies. This role ensures the integrity of vacuum acquisition and pressure ratings for Crane’s cryogenic products and maintains accurate data logging in addition to support quality assurance and production efficiency.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Perform vacuum acquisition and pressure testing on stainless steel piping assemblies.
  • Support insulation wrapping and jacket assembly on vacuum insulated products.
  • Operate mass spectrometry equipment to detect leaks and verify product integrity
  • Maintain accurate and detailed data logs for all testing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve testing anomalies
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment as required
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining 5S standards in material storage areas.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams to anticipate material needs and avoid delays.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and safe material handling practices .

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, pressure testing, and mass spectrometry.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and test procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and logging.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and material lists.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to support throughput while never compromising on safety.

Work Environment:

Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions and will work indoors in majority of cases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
