Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry. **Position Title: *Designer*** **Location:** St. Charles, MO ***Position Summary:*** T**his is a 3-month temporary assignment supporting the Engineering and Design teams with mechanical design, drafting, and detailing activities for a custom manufacturing project.** Under the guidance of a Project or Design Engineer, the *Designer* will be responsible for the mechanical design and detailing of components and assemblies for a wide range of custom mobile solutions including trailers, truck bodies, and shelters/containers. This position will interface with other engineering resources and the functional areas of production and purchasing of materials. \ ***Job Responsibilities:***

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE.
• Create mechanical drawings based upon 3D model geometry.
• Work with manufacturing to guide and assist in fabrication, assembly, and installation of the designed systems.
• Assist in improvement of product designs and overall finished product quality.
• Work effectively in a project team environment.
• Participate in design reviews. ***Required Skills:***
• Associate\'s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience, technical training or certification.

• 4 years large assembly design experience, including fabrication, sheet metal, and/or machined parts.
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS with an emphasis on sheet metal and weldments.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and reference standards, and AWS D1.1 and

• Proficiency in MSOffice applications.
• Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. ***Preferred Skills:***
• 1
• 2 years custom truck, 5th wheel and/or drawbar, or RV design experience. ***Physical Requirements:***
• Sitting, standing, and walking in office, warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to climb in and out of trailers, scaffolding and up ladders.
• Ability to bend, lift, and position self to move about the office, as needed.
• Required to stand, walk, and use fingers and hands.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ascend/descend on ladders and move around within custom mobile solutions.
• Must be able to position self to move, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
