Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Router Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC routing machines to produce high-quality components and parts. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical fabrication processes. The CNC Router Operator will ensure precision and efficiency in production while maintaining safety standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC routing machines, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathe equipment, ensuring accurate execution of job specifications.
- Program CNC routers using CAM programming software and interpret CAD drawings to produce precise parts.
- Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control and inspection of finished products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment, including Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Handle materials safely using forklifts, materials handling equipment, and hand tools; assist with materials movement as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, and packaging operations as required.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC routers, or CNC lathes within a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Familiarity with CAD software like Fusion / Solidworks for designing or modifying parts.
- Knowledge of CAM programming for toolpath generation and efficient machining processes.
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and precision measurement tools like micrometers and calipers.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, fabrication processes, welding, fixture building and design, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Previous factory or manufacturing facility experience is preferred.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in machining operations.
