The Director of Construction is a leadership position responsible for ensuring projects coming out of design by the Design Coordinator are watertight from a construction, cost, and execution standpoint. Ensure the team of PMs is dedicated, educated, excellent, and accountable. The Director of Construction ensures that our production team is upholding the values and promises presented to the client during our preconstruction and sales process. Each project hits our high standards based on quality of work, organization, job logs, photos, schedules, checklists, identification of issues, and rapid resolution.Compensation:$150,000Responsibilities:Weekly Expectations: Lead Production Meetings on the same day, same time, with the same agenda weekly. Attend weekly Preconstruction MeetingsWeekly site visits to each project to review progress, identify issues and rapid resolution, and make sure jobsite organization and cleanliness reach our high standards.Review daily logs from Project ManagersReview active project schedules for issuesFinancial Management – deep reviews of project job costing to identify issues and discuss with the Project ManagerMonthly Expectations: Attend monthly 1-1 meetings with Project Managers Accountabilities: Hold Project Managers highly accountable to the following Craft procedures:Daily Logs (mandatory) Scheduling updates Phase checklistEnsure design projects have been adequately debugged for feasibility and constructability, and are ready for Project Managers to hit the ground running Ensure Craft Core Values are being upheld by the production department Ensure projects are delivered on schedule Ensure Project Managers are aware of slippage and where to tighten up if neededAiding the design team with questions related to constructionReview and improve Craft production procedures regularly Ensure all aspects of Craft procedures are done up to standards Team Management – verify recruits for company and role fit for roles that land in the construction departmentSubcontractor Recruitment - actively recruit talented subcontractors to maintain a good pool of candidates for growthCustomer Engagement – step in ahead of projects becoming an issue when you see SOPs not being followed. Sub-contractor Management – step in when a PM or a PD identifies a problem subcontractor or problem situationTraining Resource – keep up to date on code changes, new techniques, and ensure that each field staff member is growing in their knowledge and efficiency. Suggests areas where we need redirection based on issues not being resolved Project Manager Training - onboard and train new project managersProcess and Quality Evaluation – critically evaluate the build quality of current projects, educating the team as necessaryMaterials Management – oversee the execution of building product ordering and delivery.
